In the framework of the project AKCIJA FRAKCIJA, initiated in 1999. Centre for drama art organises:

The little front of new performance and dance – presentation of the new Croatian theatre, dance and performance art to the international curators and programmers. Its essential part is the reflexive moment, the re-thinking of the questions such as: What are the new developments in Croatian performance today? How to situate European performing arts market and Eastern-European performing arts production – expectations, production, axiology, resistance, patterns - what must be excluded from the market for the market to proceed? Transition - Could we skip it? and Transition to what? – what can we learn from the European market today and how should we avoid total dependence on the market before we enter it (or it enters us)? What might be the strategies of investment in non-product and non-market oriented art processes? How to actively participate in the hybridization of public institutions in culture, how to thematize socio-political aspects of cultural production?

Little front 2004 under the title Quarantine presented productions and projects by the artists who were, one way or another, connected with Art-Workshop Lazareti in Dubrovnik.

Lectures, presentations, video-projections and workshops with the most interesting artists, artists groups and theoreticians in the field of performing arts in the widest possible sense such as Wax factory, Ong Keng Seng, Jon McKenzie, Hooman Sharifi, Boris Charmatz, Goat Island, Michael Hardt, Thomas Lehmen, Michel Uytterhoeven…

International collaboration and communication projects – in 2003 CDU sets up an exchange between Slovenian (Magda Reiter, Mateja Rebolj, Matej Kejžar, Gregor Luštek, Emil Hrvatin i Goran Bogdanovski) and Croatian artists (Bobo Jelčić i Nataša Rajković, BADco, Željka Sančanin, Andrej Vučenović i Saša Božić) entitled Postdramatic fishing. Under the notion of “postdramatic” we tried to encompass that which has been happening in the contemporary performing arts outside of the pure dramatic theatre and the word fishing is the attempt to stress the political dimension of the art, which is always the product of context, in this case the process of “permanent abuse of fishes that happen to be (of no fault of their own) the object of dispute between our two countries” (Emil Hrvatin).

November 2002 - the symposium Vague/volatile/incomprehensible - dedicated to the artistic practices that open up the fields of different experiences between the poles of comprehension and incomprehension, representation and experience, having a defined meaning or not having a meaning (participants: Baz Kershaw, Jackie Smart, Joachim Gerstmeier, Bojana Cvejić, Goran Sergej Pristaš, Bojana Kunst, Petar Milat, Tomislav Medak, Lada Čale Feldman, Heike Roms, Marin Blažević, Georg Schoellhammer, Chris Mills, Matthew Goulish, Lin Hixson, Ivana Ivković, Hooman Sharifi, Emil Hrvatin, Aldo Milohnić, Susanne Winnacker, Mårten Spångberg). Participants’ papers were published in Frakcija no. 28/29.

May 2004 - in the framework of the project Zagreb – Cultural Kapital of Europe 3000, in collaboration with the NGO’s WHW, Platforma 9,81, Multimedia institute, Community art the symposium Group dynamics took place in an old cinema Kino Lika which is about to be turned into a dance centre (participants: Ric Allsopp, Alan Read, David Williams, Dragan Živadinov, Bojana Kunst, Nebojša Jovanović, Ana Vujanović, Milan Mohar, Charles Esche….)
