documenta 12 magazines

documenta is regarded as the most important exhibition of contemporary art, drawing attention from all over the world. It takes place every five years in Kassel, Germany. The artistic director of documenta 12 is Roger M. Buergel, an internationally active exhibition-maker and curator.
One important project of the exhibition are the documenta 12 magazines, a magazine of magazines. Some 90 periodicals, magazines and online media from all over the world were invited 18 months ago to enter into a dialogue. They have discussed and reflected on the topics and theses of the exhibition. Over 300 articles, essays, interviews, commentaries and illustrated features have been exchanged. A unique space of exchange, discussion and controversy has been created. The edited materials will be published in three issues on the topics "Modernity?", "Life!", and "Education:", a web-based publication is planned to continue cooperation during the exhibition.
Journal for performing arts Frakcija, a publication of the Center for Drama Art in Zagreb is a participant of the documenta 12 magazines project and will on this occasion present its newest issue that is in part participating in the project.
