Absent Interfaces Centar za dramsku umjetnost vas poziva na večer predavanja u sklopu projekta Odsutna sučelja Marina Garcés & Verena Anker 15.12.2009. 19:00 klub za net.kulturu mama, Preradovićeva 18, Zagreb Marina Garcés Periferna percepcija je pogled angažiranog oka, angažiranog u tijelu koje gleda i u svijetu koji se kreće. Razmislimo o posljedicama promatranja sebe kao gledatelja iz ove perspektive. Periferna percepcija slama okvir imunosti suvremenog gledatelja. Ne samo gledatelja kulturnog proizvoda, već gledatelja kao stanja suvremenog subjekta. U perifernom oka nalazimo izloženost svijetu: vlastitu ranjivost i vlastito učešće. Ranjivost kao kapacitet da budemo dirnuti. Učešće kao stanje za intervenciju. U perifernoj percepciji nalazimo mogućnost da da ganemo svijet i budemo njime ganuti. Nalazimo mogućnost dijeljenog svijeta. Marina Garcés (Barcelona 1973.) predaje suvremenu filozofiju na više sveučilišta u Španjolskoj. Također predaje kolegij “teorije tijela” u sklopu programa MACAPD centra L'Animal a l'esquena (Girona), te u sklopu Máster en Artes Escénicas (Universidad de Alcalá). Od 2002. godine koordinira eksperimentalni projekt o praktičkoj i kolektivnoj misli Espai en Blanc (www.espaienblanc.net). Autorica je knjige In the prisons of the possible (Barcelona, 2002.), a također objavljuje u različitim publikacijama iz područja kulture, filozofije i politike. * Verena Anker Integracija novih medija u polje plesa ne pruža samo nove mogućnosti u koreografiji, već se upisuje u samu praksu plesa. Kroz analizu proba na novom projektu skupine Troika Ranch Loop Diver pokazat ćemo na koji način rad sa digitalnim tehnologijama suočava plesače, koreografe i novomedijske umjetnike sa neočekivanim problemima koji vode do ponovnog uspostavljanja tradicionalnih uloga i metoda rada. Koristeći digitalnu video tehnologiju kao koreografsku alatku, rabeći Loop Diver plesaći izvode kompleksne sekvence u petlji unaprijed snimljenog materijala. Petlje kroz koje se provlaći koreografski materijal se primjenjuju na glazbu i kazališnu rasvjetu. No, dok su glazba i rasvjeta precizne u izvedbi, plesači se kontinuirano prilagođavaju digitalno generiranoj strukturi izvedbe. Loop Diver propituje tradicionalnu ulogu koreografa u trenu kada je njegov rad uvjetovan računalnim karakteristikama uz prisutnost multimedijskog inženjera. Verena Anker priprema doktorat na Fakultetu umjetnosti i društvenih znanosti u Maastrichtu, gdje dolazi nakon studija medija i kulturnih studija, te studija integriranog komunikacijskog managementu u Francuskoj i Nizozemskoj. Doktorat koji je započela u 2008. je interdisciplinarno istraživanje intersekcije plesa i digitalnih medija. Fokus njezinog rada su kreativni procesi plesno-tehnoloških projekata, posebice uzajamnost izvođača i tehnologija, uz (moguće) pomake u tradicionalnim ulogama u plesnom studiju. Verena također drži predavanja iz područja medija i kulture na Sveučilištu u Maastrichtu. * Odsutna sučelja su višegodišnji projekt Centra za dramsku umjetnost u Zagrebu čiji cilj je facilitacija razvoja novih umjetničkih suradnji koje istražuju odnos žive izvedbe i novih tehnologija, te se kritički bave praksom i metodologijom umjetničke proizvodnje na presjecištu tih dviju disciplina. Projekt podržavaju Gradski ured za obrazovanje, kulturu i šport Grada Zagreba i Ministarstvo kulture Republike Hrvatske.

What are the consequences of thinking ourselves as spectators from this point of view? Peripheral vision breaks the circle of immunity of the contemporary spectator. I’m not only referring to the spectator of cultural products, but to the spectator as the condition of the contemporary subject. In the eye’s periphery we find our exposure to the world: our vulnerability and our involvement. Vulnerability is our capacity of being affected. Involvement is the condition for intervention. So in the peripheral vision we find the possibility of touching and being touched by the world. We find the possibility of a shared world. Marina Garcés (Barcelona 1973) is professor of Contemporay Philosophy in different Universities in Spain. She also teaches "theories of the body" in the MACAPD Program in L'Animal a l'esquena (Girona) and in the Máster en Artes Escénicas (Universidad de Alcalá). Since 2002 she has coordinated the experimental project on practical and collective thinking Espai en Blanc (www.espaienblanc.net). The author of the book In the prisons of the possible (Barcelona, 2002), she writes in cultural, philosophical and political publications. * Verena Anker The integration of New Media in dance art does not only provide new choreographic possibilities as it also shapes and inscribes itself into artistic dance practice. An analysis of the rehearsal process for Troika Ranch’s new creation Loop Diver will show that the work with digital technologies confronts dancers, choreographers and new media artists with unexpected problems and difficulties which require a re-negotiation of traditional roles and working methods. In Loop Diver, digital video technology is used as a choreographic tool: the dancers perform complex looped sequences of pre-recorded movement material. The same loops imposed on the choreography are also applied on the music and theatrical lighting. While the latter maintain absolute precision, the dancers are finding themselves in a constant struggle to adapt to the performance’s digitally generated structure. The making of Loop Diver equally questions the choreographer’s traditional role as his work is henceforth influenced by the computer’s characteristics and the presence of a multimedia engineer. Verena Anker is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in Maastricht. She studied media and cultural studies as well as integrated communication management in France and the Netherlands. Her PhD research which started in January 2008 is an interdisciplinary investigation on the combination of dance and digital media. In this context, she focuses on the creative process of dance-tech productions, notably the interplay between performer and technology and (possible) shifts of traditional roles in the dance studio. Verena furthermore teaches courses on media and culture at the University of Maastricht. * Absent Interfaces is a multi-year project to facilitate creation of new artworks that are based on relations between live performance and new media technologies; and are critically engaged with the modes of their own production on the intersection of those two fields.
